Eye Candy

This look has been inspired by the Spring 2008 Makeup Trend, where lilac, blue and pastel colors are dominant. I find it very charming and I love it! :-) Pardon the bloodshot, glazed eyes and the eye bags. That's what lack of sleep can do to you. :-p

WHAT YOU WILL NEED:

BASICS:

1. moisturizer
2. lip balm
3. concealer
4. foundation
5. loose powder
6. clear mascara
7. brow pencil/ brow powder
8. body gem (optional)

COLORS:

1. shimmery neutral eye shadow
2. pink eye shadow
3. sea green eye shadow
4. soft blue or sky blue eye shadow
5. lilac eye shadow
6. medium-deep purple eye shadow
7. slightly shimmery peach blush
8. light pink lipstick
9. orange lip tint/gloss

TOOLS:

1. Eye shadow brush
2. Blending brush (if you don't have one, use your ring finger)
3. blush brush
4. powder brush or sponge
5. eyelash curler

1. The usual procedure. Moisturize the face, apply lip balm and then dot concealer under the eyes and on problem areas. Blend well.

***I usually apply concealer BEFORE the foundation because once the flaws are covered, I don't need to apply much foundation therefore avoiding mask-like face.

2. Apply primer/foundation/concealer on the entire lid. Blend. Put a generous amount of powder under your eyes to catch the falling eye shadow.

3. Sweep a shimmery neutral eye shadow from brow bone to the lashline.

4. Moisten your eye shadow brush. This will make the eye makeup look more pigmented.

5. Apply pink eye shadow from lashline until just above the crease.

6. Apply lilac eye shadow on the inner corner of the eye right until above the edge of the iris.

7. Blend.

8. Apply medium/deep purple eye shadow on the outer corner of the eye. Blend until the contours of the eye (eye socket) to give the makeup a definition.

9. Apply pink eye shadow in the middle of the lower lash line. TIP: Follow the diameter of your iris.

10. Line your upper lash line using soft/sky blue eye shadow.

11. Line your outer lower lash line with blue eye shadow.

12. Apply sea or light to medium green eye shadow on your inner lower lash line.

13. Blend.

14. Curl lashes and apply clear mascara. I prefer clear because it doesn't overpower the pastel eye makeup.

15. Wipe off the powder under the eyes and apply foundation. Set it with loose powder.

16. Apply blusher on the apples of the cheeks. I personally chose a peach blush with a hint of golden shimmers for a perfect radiant flushed look.

17. Apply light pink lipstick.

18. Dab orange/peach tinted gloss on your bottom lip (just right in the middle). Why? I find it cute. When the lips are hit by the light, it looks like you are wearing a two-toned lipstick.

19. Be playful and put body gem on the very top of your cheekbone, or close to the outer edge of the eye.

20. Fill in brows.

Et voila!
