The Inter-Agency Committee (IAC) for the Celebration of the Month of Overseas Filipinos (chaired by the Philippine Migrants Rights Watch and co-chaired by the Commission on Filipinos Overseas) is pleased to inform the Post that nominations are now formally open for the 1st 18 December Awards.

The 18 December Awards honors annually, individuals and associations (based abroad or the Philippines) that contributed significantly to the protection of the rights and welfare of Filipino migrants and their families.

In this regard, we are respectfully requesting the Post to disseminate the information on the Awards as widely as possible among Filipino communities within its jurisdiction.

Attached for reference, are copies of the Primer containing the rules and guidelines for the Awards, as well as nomination forms (which may be reproduced). Nomination forms may also be downloaded at the official websites of Philippine Migrants Rights Watch and Commission on Filipinos Overseas at www.pmrw.org and www.cfo.gov.ph, respectively.

The completed nomination forms with supporting documents should be forwarded on or before 30 July 2009 to:
