Singapore consistently ranks among the top countries in the world inrelation to ease of doing business. Faced with the challenges of therecent global economic downturn in 2008, Singapore remained resilientdespite its high dependence on foreign export markets. The country'srobust policy and process infrastructure, among other features havekept its economy strong and able to grow.

Strengthened, Singapore continues to actively explorebusiness opportunities not only in potential large markets as India andChina but in a special way, it seeks investment opportunities andbusiness ventures with its neighboring countries in Southeast Asia.Compared to other ASEAN countries, e.g. Vietnam, Indonesia andThailand, there seems to be a void of information in public mediaregarding potential business opportunities between Singapore and thePhilippines, the latter being a country rich in natural resources andendowed with a large pool of English-speaking and professionallyqualified human resources.

As we celebrate the 40th year anniversary of the Singapore-Philippine Diplomatic Relationsthis year of 2009, the Singapore Business Federation brings to you aseminar about the dynamics of doing business in the Philippines e.g.investment opportunities, market expansion, joint ventures andpartnerships, offshoring, etc.
