PinoySG Badminton Club ends year 2009 with a smashing success of events Print E-mail

As the year ends, we brace ourselves to face the new challenges of the coming year, As we treasure the happy memories behind and leave those painful moments that have strengthen ourselves to withstand this eternal challenge that we called life. Together, we will reminisce every single moment that we held each others hand for the same purpose of unity and camaraderie with a big smile.

PinoySG Badminton club who has been very instrumental in giving our fellow Filipinos a share of laughter, smile and the love for badminton sport have once again ended the year with admirable achievements.

PinoySG Badminton club in cooperation with Fil-Sports Badminton which is under FIL-SPORTS WELFARE and COMMUNITY OF JOHOR (FSWCJ) organized the first tournament for both groups to promote camaraderie and cooperation.

Fil Sports Badminton which is lead by Jon Ray Patangan welcomed Robert Villamor of PinoySG Badminton club in their turf and started the program for the tournament. The tourney ends with both teams pitting their best skills against each other with PSG capturing the championship in the end for Mens Doubles and Womens Doubles.

The day ends with the giving of special awards that has brought cheers and jeers from both members of the group

1st PinoySG Yuletide Ball 2009 – November 27, 2009, JTC Recreation Club

badminton_xmas09a.jpgAfter 2 years of existence, the club decided to celebrate Christmas for the first time through a yuletide ball. 50 club members came to grace the occasion and mesmerized everyone with their glamorous formal attire. The night has been quite exciting as games and programs were held for everyone’s enjoyment.

An acoustic band organized by selected club members performed some modern songs and were followed by a song serenade of Robert Villamor and Kristian “Speed” Anquillano.

The night ends with a superb and super hilarious performance of the PSG Wonderboys who dance to the tune of Nobody and Single Ladies. Accompanied by the howls and cheers of the crowd, the dance intermission was considered as the climax of that night.

 

PinoySG Badminton Club supports Lining Youth International 2009 badminton delegates from Philippines

With the generosity of PSG members, the club has supported the young badminton athletes from Whackers Badminton Academy in their quest to compete in the Lining Youth International 2009.

For the efforts that the members have shown, Jay Lamanilao, Admin Head of Whackers Badminton academy turn over the plaque of appreciation signed by Philippine Badminton Association president, Amelita Ming Ramos to PinoySG Badminton Club president, Robert Villamor.

PinoySG Badminton officers treat the all the delegates to a sumptuous dinner at Makansuntra, before they return to Philippines last December 21, 2009.

 

 

PinoySG unveils new official tournament uniform for 2010

Designed by Mike Guesse and Elaine Venturanza, the production team under Kristian Anquillano and Suzy Alava were able to release 150+ shirts to members and non members. This is the first PSG uniform in which the demand was at the highest even from non members of the club.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

PinoySG donates to Typhoon victims in Philippines the amount of 29,000 pesos through De La Salle Brothers Inc in Manila


The amount was generated after the fund raising event during the 3rd PSG Intraclub tournament and Fun Matches every Saturday. Again, the members have shown its kindness with a swift response after the calamity affected our countrymen in Philippines.

PinoySG Badminton club would like to express its deepest gratitude to all the sponsors for the past 2 years of its existence.

And in behalf of the 200 members of the club, we wish everyone a merry Christmas and a happy new year.
