PinoySG starts the Metal Tiger Year 2010 with a back to back event! The objectives of the event are anchored on the theme of a social responsibility program thru a BLOOD DONATION DRIVE and empowering Filipino entrepreneurial skills thru a BARATILLO FESTIVAL.

Over the past five (5) years of PinoySG’s existence in Singapore, it had the opportunity to explore on different events such as recreational/sports, social, community outreach and educational events of which strengthened the bond among Filipinos in Singapore by its sub groups.

One of the most significant community outreach programs ever initiated by PinoySG is the activity for HOME (organization for runaway maids) on 2007-2008, which aimed to uplift the moral of the runaway maids and as well provide for their immediate needs like grocery items, toiletries, medicines and clothing.

Now, to respond to the emerging threat to human life, PinoySG sought the need to understand how it can deepen its support to Singapore as its community. This is when, a serious and in depth review of an organization to adopt has become vital.

RED CROSS being an independent humanitarian organisation, raising their own funds in serving humanity and furthering their work locally and internationally is dedicated to protecting human life and dignity, relieving human suffering and responding to emergencies. Every hour of the day, 15 units of blood are used in Singapore. And with this challenge, RED CROSS needs to collect at least 350 units a day, as a whopping 90,000 units are needed in a year, just to meet the transfusion needs of patients in Singapore. And with an aging population and more sophisticated medical procedures, the demand of blood is increasing. This is where the role of PINOYSG starts, to support RED CROSS with its aim to GIVE BLOOD –SAVE LIVES! http://www.redcross.org.sg
