STATUS UPDATE #3 ON EFFECTS OF TYPHOON ONDOY

1 October 2009 As of 6AM today, a total of 277 people have been confirmed dead and 42 others missing. The National Disaster Coordinating Center (NDCC) reported that 686,699 people had been displaced by the flood. According to the NDCC’s latest assessment of the situation, the following relief items are most urgently needed: Hygiene kits and water purification tablets Medical supplies Food and non-food items (rice, canned goods, noodles, beddings, kitchen utensils, slippers) Updated information on the effects of Tropical Storm Ondoy may be obtained from the National Disaster Coordinating Center at the following URL: http://210.185.184.53/ndccWeb/index.php?option=com_content&task=view&id=164&Itemid=221 .
